Dovecote Lodge History

This old estate managers cottage has a wealth of history behind it doors being more than 200 years old. It has been owned by the Jasmine family for four generations after being gifted to the current owners great-great-grandfather in 1896 by his employer the then Lord of the estate. The real reason for such a generous gift has been lost over time though there have been many family stories over the years as to why. The most favoured of which is that Edwin Jasmine's quick actions helped save the life of the Lord eldest son after a riding accident.

Current Owners

The current owners of Dovecote Lodge Jeremy & Heather took over in 2015, they live at Dovecote with their two grown-up children. Soon after taking ownership they set about converting the cottage plus its derelict stables and barn, into the most wonderful place to spend your holiday. Having retained the old fashioned essence of the buildings and combining it with modern luxury living that we feel our guests deserve and will enjoy as much as we do.

Dovecote Lodge has just five en-suite bedrooms and two suites which are situated in both the main cottage and the converted stables and barn that are accessible to the main house by enclosed glass walkways.
